What is Holodeck’d: Game Time?

Holodeck’d: Game Time (HGT), like its sister business Holodeck’d is a business that utilizes Hard Light technology to generate physical constructs that can be interacted with. Anything that can be imagined can be given physical form in this place. While the original Holodeck’d is free form, this one is a game.

So my character plays the game with their physical body?

Yes, but there is a level in the building that houses computers with your typical mouse and keyboard interface for characters to use if they are most comfortable with that. But if they are playing with their physical body, they will grow tired just as they would with any normal physical activity. The game does play to the physical capabilities of the in game character. Example, if the character is strong then feats of strength can be done in game. Like lifting characters, jumping high. Stuff like that.

What type of game is it?

Think Dungeons & Dragons. It’s sword and sorcery inside of a Medieval Setting. While playing the game, characters can generally be whatever type of class they want to be as long as it isn’t something game breaking. If you are wondering if a specific class was included on the game, feel free to send me a PM to ask me.

Spells, weapons, ect, are also being left up to you. Again, as long as it isn’t something utterly game breaking, then feel free to have your character find it in the game. It goes without saying that the more time your character may spend playing, the more powerful weapons that will find.

What is the level cap in the game?

The level cap is 99.

Are areas level specific?

Lower level characters can travel into higher level areas, but they will receive a warning when they attempt to do so just to let them know that the area they are entering is too high for them.

What about appearances? How much customization is there?

A characters original appearance can be used, it’s just that the armors and weapon will be overlayed on their bodies. A character can also customize an Avatar for themselves to appear as. The gender, voice and outward physical appearance is up to the character playing the game. But clothing and weapon choice must still play within the confines of the game setting. Height is a trickier thing, a character can make their Avatar taller, but to play a shorter avatar, they’ll have to use a computer interface. At least one that is drastically shorter than their real body.

So my character gets abilities in the game?

Yes. They get abilities depending on the class that they are playing. So a mage will get spells, a fighter will get fighter type abilities, ect. The in game menu allows for their Spells or Abilities books to be opened and they can be tied to a gesture or a vocal command to make them easier to use. Think shouting Fireball to invoke a Fireball spell. Something like that.

Are there mounts?

Yes, characters can get mounts. Though the cooler mounts they can only get once they reach higher levels.

If my character gets hit, will it hurt?

That’s dependent on their settings. A character can set a pain threshold for their Avatar. They can feel physical pain when hit or just pressure. Just something to know that they are taking damage.

So what does my character do in the game?

Quest, fight monsters, level, ect. What you’d do in a typical RPG style of game. They can do whatever they find fun. When they are finished playing, they can pull up the in game menu and log out. Their position will be saved and they will be brought to the Entrance/Exit of the game so that they can leave. Though if they are playing via a computer, then they will just log out immediately with their position still being saved.

What happens if my character uses their powers?

The game will ignore them. If they use movement abilities that aren't part of their character, they'll see an error displayed to them and they'll be instructed to move back to where they had been.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
